My word for the year is
F L O U R I S H
!!!
Since turning 60, I find myself thinking more about redeeming the time.
At this age, my goal is to continue to grow and learn and flourish in all areas of my life.
I do not want to turn into a stale, cranky old lady with no zest nor sparkle.
God has been gracious to me.
I need to reflect my gratitude for all He was given me.
My one little word will be a reminder.
I love Psalm 92.
It begins...
It is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness (last year's word of the year!) in the morning and Your faithfulness every night.
...and ends with verses 12-15
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
Good words to ponder.
Have you chosen a word?
Do tell.

ReplyDeleteI would say the it is a "God-incidence" that I have been reading this same passage over and over again for the past few weeks! I'm-a gonna take your word! Stealing!
ReplyDeleteI love your word - and I love that passage of Scripture. It's such a wonderful encouragement as we grow older in life! My word for this year is 'Delight'. Psalm 37:4 (Amplified) - 'Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.' I'd like to flourish while I'm delighting! Your post today was such an encouragement to me!
