(another journal cover)

~journal closed~

This one will have pages that measure 6x6 inches.
Smaller than the 6x9 inch Remember When journal.
I tend to like the smaller size a bit better.

~journal lining~

I did the feather stitching to cover stitches from adding my fave-mother-of-pearl-buttons on the front.
Bothered me, so that was my fix-me-up for that issue.

~journal back~

The cover was made from drop cloth fabric and an upholstery sample.
The lace panels were cut from a tablecloth remnant (?).
The lining is from a fat quarter I had in the stash.
Love the colors in that.

You know...I could make these all day long.
I really could.
They feed my need to create.

Anyway.....
I haven't begun the signatures on the RW journal nor this one.
I am using watercolor papers and card stock.
Still deciding whether or not to paint them first, before adding all the "stuff".
I have a big box of papers/labels/pretties, etc... (stuff) that I am looking forward to playing with...to add to the pages before they are ready for actual journaling.

::::

My littles are here today.
Mama is going to the doctor every two weeks now.
They have had cookies and milk and are now watching some story book videos back in the dawdi haus with Auntie J.

::::

The hubs is busy working on our kitchen reno.
Did I mention that?
Been working on it since early February.
Our original kitchen measured a mere 9x11 feet.
We took a wall out between the kitchen and the office to give us more space.
Think I will like this.
I know we will wish we had done it sooner!!!
I'll show you some before and after photos when we finish.
It may be a little while...hopefully done by May.
Rachel and family will be coming for a few days.
That is the goal.

::::

Hope you are having a nice Tuesday!

  2. "wish we had done it sooner" is good lesson here; there are SO many things I've wanted to do around this place and I'm beginning to think I had better get to work! Do you know how to wallpaper? :)
    Your journals are gorgeous. This one reminds me of a bride (even with the "something blue")!

  3. Have done wallpaper in the past. Not so much now. My hubs is better at it...and I just keep the table clean in between the strips. :P
