I loved her so much.
Still miss her.
Especially the sound of her laugh.
She passed away 23 years ago today at the age of 95.
Yes, that's little me seated on her lap.
The photo was taken in 1953.
Mimi was the age that I am now.

It is good to remember those who are precious to us.

Yes! So good to remember them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely lady, and a cute lil pumpkin pie on her lap. Yes, it's good to remember special people in our lives.
ReplyDeleteYou sure not yet?
ReplyDeleteSure is hard to wrap one's mind around being one's own grandmothers age ourself. My mom will say her grandmother was very old when she did such-and-such, in her 80s, and I have to point out to my mom that SHE is in her 80s now too. It is looking like one isn't officially old until one is in ones 90s now days!
Oh my grandma passed away this week 26 years ago at the age of 94. I am the age my mom was when she lost her mother. Wonderful memories keep those we love in this world with us.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes! We sound like kindred spirits...I am a "Mimi" as well...
ReplyDeleteHappy to have discovered your blog!
Best,
Anne
Such a blessing to have memories of those who have made such impact on our lives... what a treasure!
ReplyDeleteI hope baby boy shows up today! My mother and her mother died on the same day...30 years apart....
ReplyDeleteI love this photo...:)
