With the many stitched hearts floating around blogland, I thought it appropriate to make my own version of a Sailor's Valentine to mark forty years of marriage this coming June 16th.
Of course, this one is not made from a variety of shells artfully arranged under glass as a true Sailor Valentine would be.
It's just a heart.
A simple heart stitched with vintage laces, ribbons and beads on a leftover piece of drop cloth material...plus an old key.
Thanks are due to Pam, Charlotte and Rebecca for the inspiration.

ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to share a blog with you. I found a book at our library of Mother Goose stitched in beautiful, detailed pictures. I enjoyed it so much that I looked online to see if she had more books and to learn more about her, and discovered her blog. I immedietly thought of you and that you would probably like to see her work, too.
