This was a difficult photo to shoot!
An Alberta clipper is moving through our area (brrrrrr!) and it is very dark.
I moved this thing all over my house to find some light and ended up with this one...taken in the front porch...still darker than I'd like.
Anyway....all that to show you the little hearts displayed on this wooden tree.
♥♥♥
My father in law made the tree for me years ago. I used to have apples and cinnamon hearts on it during the holidays...with a bunch of wheat tied to the top.
Any of you have one of these from back in the day?
I am thinking the top needs a little somethin' more. Just not sure what.
Suggestions?
♥♥♥
I need to find another snuggle-under-the-blanket project.
We are expecting temperatures in the single digits tomorrow.
If only I was a knitter.
*sigh*
love the hearts
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for something to use as a seasonal tree for the boys to decorate. I don't want a Christmas tree and I haven't found twigs or branches to use yet. This tree idea of yours might just do the trick.
ReplyDeleteI like the bow on the top. Maybe a sparkly heart, too? Maybe I'm still stuck on sparkly stars on Christmas trees...I do think it's nice just as it is.
I bought some beautiful embossed red felt for hearts just the other day. :)
Lovely just as it is!
ReplyDeleteOh how cute is that! Love it. Perhaps a little bird for the top? A Cardinal maybe??
ReplyDeleteI love it! I was wondering if these were for a little tree of some sort.
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI have all the material for my hearts - I think I'm afraid to start. I'm challenged you know...
I think we're getting your storm tonight - and the cold cold weather on Thursday.
Oh, I have to show this to my woodworker husband. Another item on the honeydo list! I'd love to have something like this to decorate for the different holidays.
ReplyDeleteDawn. . .you could become a knitter; you're never to old, you know!
ReplyDelete65 degrees in south Texas today, and I hugged your sweet Laurie today.
I had the same problem with the darkness today.
ReplyDeleteLooks delightful though!
I really like this "seasonal tree," and I may have to get my woodworker dad to do this for me.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I love the hearts and I want to make more myself.
Jody
What? Why aren't you a knitter?
ReplyDeleteI love your heart tree, you know, Valentine's day is quite possibly my own personal favorite holiday of all...because of the LOVE, the red and pink, and it's just 2 days after my birthday.
I considered the top, like you asked us to in the post, but I couldn't think of anything else you could do to it. But then, I'm not the creative type. I only get creative by copy-catting people like you.
Also, I didn't understand your comment today about the Gorilla. (???)
LOL, ((HUGS)) Shanda
My mind went right away to thinking about how I could make a ttrr similar to that, it would be so much fun to fill with seasonal decorations, your decorations are perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove, JO
Fabulous hearts! They are so cheery and beautiful. The wooden tree is so cute with the ribbon. I couldn't think of anything else...but thought the bird idea was a good one. Jenny
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Dawn!
ReplyDeleteYou might always create a larger heart with an opening to slip over the tippity-top of your tree as a tree topper with one of the felted birds from Christmas to each side with a heart as the wing?! Both sides of course! {wink}
Keep warm... your cold air has traveled to NH today and expected to keep on getting colder with each passing day!
Hugs,
-A.
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteoh...this is just so sweet...love it that Valentines comes after Christmas...
