(names)

Along with all the other ornaments on our tree is a set of twenty six names of Jesus, corresponding with the letters of the alphabet. This one, of course, is for the letter H..
These are a reminder to our family of the amazing attributes of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ... of the scriptures that mention the different names... and that He is the reason for this wonderful season we celebrate together.

edited to add:
My set is made from painted wood with wire hangers...but I have made sets of these from paper...choosing a great font from the net and double or triple matting them in coordinating colors. One of our children loves the Celtic look..so I did a set using an appropriate font...They have them displayed on a garland on their stairway. It is a very do-able project using your computer. To find a list of the names of Jesus, just do a search and you will find sites that have more than enough names to choose from...for your own unique set.

Oh, and thanks for sending us off to look on our own. It would have been very easy to just copy your list, but it is oh so much better looking and choosing on my own. THANKS again for such a GREAT idea!!! I can't wait for Chinese New Year break to come so I can start make them. It might be a year long project for uncrafty little ole me!!

  19. @Lisa: I found a website with 100 biblical names of Jesus..
For the letters that weren't listed, like N - I used Name above all names..
    and X? eXcellent one.
    You get the idea.
    Hope you enjoy this project!
You could include the passage of scripture on the back.
I made a set for our pastor a few years ago and he used them for family devotions in December.
